It's always beautiful when two awesome things collide. It's especially beautiful when those two things are The Simpsons and Lego. And that's exactly what we're going to see on May 4, when Fox will air an episode of The Simpsons in Lego form—or at least CGI Lego form.

Believe it or not, the idea for the episode had nothing to do with the recent Lego movie and came about well before the Simpsons Lego set. The show's executive producer, Matt Selman, told Entertainment Weekly that the whole thing started back in 2012. It all started with a couch gag and then sort of snowballed into a full episode. "I think the episode is about: What is awesomeness?" said Selman. "Is a universe that is awesome all the time a universe you truly want to live in?"
