What’s even more unnerving than an artificially intelligent Big Mouth Billy Bass telling you about the weather? That’s easy. It’s an artificially intelligent animatronic skull telling you about the weather through a set of clacking teeth. The roving eyeballs are the creepiest part.

To be a bit more specific, the answer is Project Yorick, a three-axis skull kit that’s been programmed to work with Amazon’s personal assistant, Alexa. You just ask Alexa a question, and the bright-eyed skull answers back.

It’s not the easiest hack in the world, but Mike McGurin, the genius behind Project Yorick, did provide details about how to build the whole set up in a blog post. You’ll need a Raspberry Pi, a three-axis skull kit, a bunch of other hardware, and a ton of free time to pull it off.
